Hidden gem! This review is for the restaurant. We found this place by accident and glad we did! All the food was fresh and delicious. The staff is amazing and the overall cleanliness is great. I recommend sitting out on the deck. You can’t beat the lake view! We’ve been back several times.
For being our first experience on fresh water, staying at idle awhile was a great experience for those planning on going on the lake. With a restaurant/bar only 100feet away from your room. They give you great options for boat slips and trailer parking. The owner of this establishment was very kind and courteous of our entire party traveling together as a group! If you plan on using their onsite boat ramp I would beware it is shallow and has a good size drop off on the passenger side of the boat trailer. For those with longer and larger boats the ferry is only 3 minutes up the street to launch.
Linda is an asset to the locals and the establishment is a blessing to everyone that goes there! It epitomizes the mentality behind all the small floridan towns of yesteryear to a 7th gen Floridian myself... their genuine desires to make your experience a great one! The staff and "Pops" truly live out the "help thy neighbor". I became friends with Linda, the current manager and operator, Heather, her awesome father "Pops"... Brittany and Emily working earnestly behind the bar to please each patron day after day. If you're lucky enough, y'all will have Dawnie Dawn wait on you...Her smile is contagious genuinely welcoming you to their beautiful lakefront restaurant and hotel... Come by boat or car but come and and enjoy drinks oit back lit by tiki torches and a fire pit to socialize with friends around after meal. The egg sandwich is worth working all day for its just honestly that good :)
We were originally heading to Renegades, but it was packed so we traveled down some road til we found this place and we're so glad we did. The place wasn't really crowded at all when we got there but it looked like they were maybe setting up for live music inside. We weren't sure what to expect. The food was actually really good, I know we got gator tail but I don't remember what else. Next time, I wanna try the Pizza. Service was good and we were left alone enough to eat but we were never looking around for the server when we needed something. Not sure what it's generally like in terms of business at other times but we definitely were happy and we can't wait to go back! :)
Cruised over from Port Cove RV resort for some lunch. Simple but delicious menu, cocktail special was refreshing, and Angela was a wonderfully hospitable server on her first day. Will definitely make it a meal stop on our next camping visit to Port Cove
We love Idle Awhile. Great food-have the BBQ egg rolls. We also had salad, fried pickles, and three different pizzas. It was all very yummy. Great pulled pork. Plus great drink specials. My husband had a Knobb Creek old fashioned for under $7. They also have karaoke, which was very entertaining. Southern smiles at a laid back pace. Don't go in a hurry, go hungry and relax.
